Metalurgia 2012 – International Fair and Congress on Technology for Foundry, Steel Mills, Forging, Aluminum and Services –, scheduled for September 18 to 21, 2012, in Joinville/SC, brings together a wide range of companies, from large enterprises operating worldwide to micro ones, making the event a center for information and technology highly valued by the fair’s visitors. The presence of international companies is a highlight in this edition, coming from countries such as Germany, Italy, USA and China.
For its eighth edition, it is expected that about 450 companies will participate, reaching 100% occupancy in the 20,000 square meters of Expoville’s two pavilions. Also occurring in parallel to Metalurgia is Cintec Foundry - Congress of Technological Innovation, organized by IST/Sociesc - Educational Society of Santa Catarina.
In 2010, 23,000 people visited the fair, coming from 19 countries and 14 Brazilian states, with a greater representation from the foundry and automotive sectors, as well as engineering, electronics, electro-electronics, home appliances and services. The largest percentage of visitors, 39%, were decision makers of organizations, 18% from the research area and 12% from planning. The visitors' main areas of interest were raw materials, machinery, equipment, supplies, castings, environment, modeling, tooling and projects. It is estimated that business generated during the fair and in the following six months reached over R$ 450 million, due to negotiations and contacts which were initiated at the event.
Launches and products
Fundipress will divulge, in Metalurgia 2012, its activities in the development of pressure aluminum parts and in the aluminum injection market. The company works with projects tailored to customers’ needs and complies with the specifications and standards of the market. Fundipress serves the textile, automotive, white goods, construction, motor, communication, two wheel sectors, among others.
Raw and machined casted parts supplied to different markets, but with a prominent presence in the automotive and railway markets, are the innovations from the Spanish company Jamai. "Our differential is in the rigorous production and quality control of high added value parts, together with specialized engineers and commercial technicians", says Juan Ramón Ibarra, Jamai Brasil’s commercial director. Headquartered in Spain and with factories in China, the company provides clients services of product/process engineering, project analysis, production market definition, molds and tools, prototypes, series production and logistics.
Sales representative for
Carbonífera Belluno and Carbonífera Metropolitana, WB showcases coal coke used in Cupola furnaces in foundries to process solid iron into liquid. Another product is the Cardiff ground coal, used in green sand systems to ensure better finished parts.
After four participations in Metalurgia in partnerships with other companies, in 2012,
Gabriella Refratários will have its own booth where it will promote its products: bricks, mortars, concretes and special parts in silica-alumina, alumina and insulation refractory. With such differentials as internal environment temperature control, heat recovery for fuel savings, extended life of equipment due to the thermal insulation and protection of the metal and iron walls, the products are mainly used, in coatings and crucibles, furnaces, dryers, molten steel passages, thermal insulation, thermal pipe coatings and contact abrasion protection. Grabriella serves the foundry, cement, steel, ceramics and glassworks markets.
Ecil Met Tec, specialized in systems and sensors for process control in the melting and refining of metals, will bring two launches to its booth. The advanced thermal analysis system Thermolan Azterlan for cast iron, developed by the Azterlan Metallurgical Research Center, from Spain, precisely characterizes the metal’s solidification. "With Thermolan it is possible to predict, in real time, the type and form of graphite and other parameters that determine the metallurgical quality of gray, nodular and vermicular cast iron", explains Douglas Gregorio, Ecil Met Tec's sales manager.
The
CellaCast Keller System, which was developed to measure temperature without contact in the liquid metal jet in continuous casting lines, such as pouring ladles or pouring furnaces. "The CellaCast system is based on a two-color pyrometer with high optical resolution, this produces highly reliable measuring results even when there is a lot of dust, vapor or smoke in the pyrometer's field of vision", affirms Douglas. With the integrated ATD function (Automatic Temperature Detection) it is possible to obtain a temperature reading for each poured mold. Data is transmitted via the analog output or serial interface and can also be viewed on a field display.
