Sep. 19, 2012 – Refractories Industry Standard Validation Seminar, organized by National Refractories Standardization Technical Committee, was held in Luoyang, Henan province on Sep. 13. Over 40 committee members and professors from 27 refractories manufacturers, design organization, steel enterprises, institutes and universities attended the seminar. This seminar examined and approved 3 items Industry Standards: "Corundum Brick", "Chrome-Corundum Brick" and "Zircon-based Metering Nozzle", of which the Standards of "Corundum Brick" and "Chrome-corundum Brick" are the new standards, and that of "Zircon-based Metering Nozzle" is revised standard.
At the seminar, Professor Wang Shouye, chairman of the National Refractories Standardization Technical Committee, summarized the work at the National Refractories Standardization Technical Committee branch in the past two year, pointing out the achievements and the problems and proposing the tasks for the next step. Subsequently, the standard validation seminar set up a jury composed of 21 members and experts.

according to the procedures of standard examination and approval, intensely discussed on definitions, classifications, brands, physicochemical properties and shape sizes of the
validated products, and verified the industry standards word for word on the basis of consensus. All the participants agreed that the Industry Standards of "Corundum Brick" and "Chrome-corundum Brick" filled the domestic policy gaps, with technical levels reaching the international and national advanced technical level. While the revised standard "Zircon-based Metering Nozzle" also achieved the leading level in domestic industry, with technical classification of brands and improved technical qualification.
