The Third Summit Forum for Refractories Enterprises was Held in Laizhou

Sep. 19, 2012 - The third summit forum for refractories enterprises, the affiliated companies of iron and steel enterprises in Bohai coastal region, organized by Shandong Refractories Group Co., Ltd., was held in Laizhou, Shandong province on Aug. 28. Nearly 30 related leaders attended this forum, including Xiaoqi Wang, Vice Chairman of China Iron and Steel Association, Tingshou Li, Vice Director of China Iron and Steel Association Science and Technology Development Center, and others from Ansteel Refractories Co., Ltd., Pangang Metallurgical Materials Co., Ltd., Qinhuangdao Shougang Krosaki Refractories Co., Ltd., Inner Mongolia Baotou Steel Lier High-temperature Materials Co., Ltd., High Temperature Materials and Magnesium Resources Engineering College of University of Science and Technology Liaoning, Tangshan Strong Refractory Co., Ltd., Tangshan Guoliang Refractory Co., Ltd., Beijing Steel Association Metallurgical Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd., and Shandong Refractories Group Co., Ltd.. Tingshou Li, Vice Director of China Iron and Steel Association Science and Technology Development Center, presided this seminar.
The participants had introduced their own companies, stated measures and development ideas in view of the current refractories industry situation, put forward some valuable views and thoughs for the development of refractories companies and proposed some problerms which needed to further research and discuss.
Xiaoqi Wang, Vice Chairman of China Iron and Steel Association, introduced the current development status of iron and steel industry, fully affirmed the achievements which refractories companies had gained in the weakened economy, and proposed some requirements and expectations on the development of refractories industry. Mr. Wang pointed out that China steel industry currently was under the most difficult period in history, which was caused by over capacity and low industrial concentration, but which was favorable for the structure adjustment of steel industry. Although this difficult time could not conclude in the short term, the pursuit of benefit rely on scale expansion had been in the past. Facing with the situation, the enterprises leaders should calm down, no longer invest blindly and make much account of boosting enterprises development by advanced technology.
Xiaoqi Wang pointed out, refractories companies should firmly keep the customer-focused service concept, emphasize on providing solutions and create value for customers, as well as pay more attention on the utilization of resources including the effective utilization of recycling renewable resources and the existing resources. Mr. Wang fully affirmed the achievements of this summit forum, providing a platform for refractories companies to study and communicate together, and expect to play a positive role in the long run.
