nd China International Refractory Production and Application Conference (Refractory China 2013), hosted by China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) and the Association of China Refractory Industry (ACRI), organized by Metallurgical Council of CCPIT, was held successfully at Sheraton Wuxi Binhu Hotel, Wuxi, Jiangsu, China, during 15-17
th May 2013. Almost three hundred attendees of experts, entrepreneurs and enterprise preventatives came from more than ten countries all over the world such as China, EU, USA, Australia and India etc.
At the conference, Zhang Changfu, the vice chairman & secretary general of China Iron and Steel Association, made the special report entitled as Build an Upgraded Version of the Chinese Steel Industry with Innovation as the Driving Force and Mitigating Over-capacity as a Breakthrough Point. Han Nae Hee, Chief Economist of the World Steel Association, made the report entitled as Global Steel Market Outlook and Challenges. Xu Dianli, Executive vice chairmen of ACRI, made a speech named as Status and Perspective of China’s Refractories Industry.
During the two days’ conference, representatives discussed the developing perspective of refractories industry. During the 10th and 11th Five-Year Plan period, China refractory industry achieved great development. Representatives believed that refractories industry development should be promoted by adjusting industrial construction and building new sustainable development mode, with the theme of scientific development, the premise of controlling total production, the mainline of independent innovation, the key point of satisfying the needs of China high temperature industry and global market.
At last, representatives visited Shagang Group Co., Ltd, the largest private steel mill.
