Yichuanye to start production of silicon carbide

Jan. 14, 2021 - Inner Mongolia Yichuanye Carbon Material Technology Co., Ltd. plans to start production of black silicon carbide on January 15. The company has an annual output of 120,000 tons and will operate a furnace in mid-January. The output in February is expected to be about 3,600 tons.

Refwin learned that Yichuanye has 4 production lines and the annual output of each production line is around 30,000 tons. The company will operate the first furnace in the middle of this month. The first batch of silicon carbide will be produced in early February, and output is estimated to be about 3,600 tons. They plan to operate the second production line in March this year. The third production line is planned to be operated at the end of this year, and the last one will be operated next year. In 2021, the company plans to produce about 70,000 tons of silicon carbide.

With a total investment of about 1 billion yuan (about 154.4 million USD), the company will become one of the main silicon carbide producers in China.
