Turkey’s MMK Metalurji to resume steel production

Mar. 6, 2023 - Turkish steel producer MMK Metalurji planned to resume the operation of its electric arc furnace and hot-rolling mill in Dilovasi, Western Turkey in April, in order to fulfill the steel demand after the earthquakes that occurred on February 6. The facility has been idled since November 2022 due to the low profit margins in the market previously.

Besides, İskenderun Demir Çelik (İsdemir), another Turkish steel producer, also planned to resume production in phases. The steel plant was initially shut down to inspect for damage.
