Sales decline of TYK in 4th Quarter in 2016

Jun. 29. 2017 - TYK Co., Ltd. (TYK) results until the fourth quarter of 2016: the cumulative sales reached 14.651 billion yen, down 2.5% year on year; cumulative operating profit was 1.034 billion yen, up 18.9% year on year; cumulative recurring profit was 1.23 billion yen, with an increase of 6.7%.

Viewing from geographic division:

In Japan, cumulative sales reached 10.546 billion yen, an increase of 1.4%, and cumulative segment profit was 1.044 billion yen, an increase of 16.0%.

In North American, cumulative sales dropped down by 14.6% to 1.629 billion yen, with segment profit of -1.7 million yen.

In Europe, cumulative ales reached 1.736 billion yen, down 7.6%, with segment profits of 170 million yen, down 17.5%.

In Asia, cumulative sales declined to 397 million yen, down 20.5%, and segment profits was 5.9 million yen, down 26.7%.

In other regions, cumulative sales reached 345 million yen, down 1.1%, with segment profits of 170 million yen, an increase of 36.2%.

TYK performed well in Japan with a remarkable achievement; however, the international business has suffered Waterloo. Overall, the international business sales generally declined in Asia and North America, European business, especially the loss in North American market.

Impacted by the appreciation of the yen, Japanese companies generally showed a decline in the sales performance in 2016. According to the anual report of Kawasaki and Shinagawa, they all appeared to be sales decline, but Shinagawa and Kawasaki did not appear a wide range of profit decline or loss.
