Positive signs continue to flow from Ceramics China

Jul. 21, 2018 - Trend Industrial Ceramics once again had a major presence with a newly designed stand at Ceramics China 2018, which took place last month at the Pazhou Exhibition Complex, Guangzhou (Asia’s largest exhibition and convention centre).

“This is the largest event of its kind in the world,” said Trend’s international sales director, Steve Tingay, “and it has grown to an impressive size. There was the full range of coverage in the area of high temperature ceramics, kiln furniture, and thermal systems and we were able to present our extensive, high performance ranges.

“The stand was busy throughout the show period and a final visitor figure of just under 99,000 people is proof of the continuing popularity of Ceramics China.”

Customers and potential customers from a number of Asian markets visited the Trend stand and this year was notable for the increase in manufacturers from Bangladesh. “We were successful in picking up new enquiries from the Bangladesh area, which looks to be a promising new market for us,” added Steve. “We are also in the process of consolidating on this success and more strongly establishing our brand there after my recent trips to the country a few weeks ago. I see plenty of potential in the Bangladeshi sanitary ware and tableware sectors, in particular.”

This year was also the opportunity to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the founding of Trend Industrial Ceramics. During the show week the company held a drinks reception and there were short speeches by founding investor Yu Faming, general manager Zhang Weiguo, Sukhjinder Singh (managing director, IPS Ceramics, UK) and Michael Moutin (CEO, EmcoTherm, Germany).

Additionally, IPS Ceramics presented a specially printed tile to Yu Faming and Trend managing director Guo Haizhu to mark the occasion. Commemorative gifts also came from FL Smidth and Dongnai Brick & Tile (Vietnam).

As a mark of thanks for being present at the reception and for their continued support for Trend, all attendees were presented with a 20th anniversary commemorative bone china cup set.
