<font size=4 color=red><b>Shanxi province becomes China's biggest aluminium industrial base</b></font>

The 800,000-ton alumina project of China Aluminium Co., Ltd. (Shanxi Branch), the 280,000-ton electrolytic aluminium project and the power unit project of Huaze Aluminium Electricity Co., Ltd. of Shanxi Province were put into production on Sept. 25 in Hejin City of the province, making Shanxi China's biggest aluminium industrial base and one of the world's large-scale aluminium industrial bases.
Shanxi will have an annual production capacity of of 2.2 million tons of alumina, 280,000 tons of electrolytic aluminium and 160,000 tons of carbon when the three projects are fully put into production by the end of this year.
As key projects in the period of China's tenth five-year plan, the three projects cost a total investment of 9.765 billion yuan (US$1.2 billion). They are of great importance for the province in full playing its superiority in resources, realizing an integrated aluminium industrial chain, improving product mix, further reducing cost and pollution and enhancing economic returns.
