POSCO registers a standard technology in ASTM

June news – POSCO’s cryogenic manganese steel which could be used in the construction of LNG tanks has been registered in American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) as standard technology.

Cryogenic manganese steel is a steel product that can afford -196℃ low temperature, and is suitable storing and transporting LNG.

The technologies registered with international standards organization including materials and standards are being used as standards and specifications for engineers not only in US but globally.

This registration means that POSCO’s cryogenic manganese steel is recognized as a material that can be safely used around world.

This materials was used for the LNG fuel tank which built by Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in last year.
