Silicon carbide is a non-oxide compound made up of carbon and silicon. It is remarkably instable under high temperature and oxidizing condition, especially oxidized rapidly more than 1627℃. Based on this feature, our company further developed a compound silicon carbide, which had been used in the process of making plain carbon steel and some low-alloy steel in converter instead of ferrosilicon and carburant to achieve the deoxidation and carburizing of molten steel, and obtained good results.

Usage and amount:
For alloy deoxidation steel making, firstly add 3-6kg /t steel of the product to the bottom of the ladle before smelting , then begin deoxidizing and alloying when tapping 1/3 of the molten steel, the rest of it can be done according to conventional process.
