Kerneos won an award with the paper "New insights into corrosion mechanisms on dense refractory castables containing a novel calcium magnesium aluminate binder" presented by Adriana Borovsky during the 36th Alafar Congress (Latin American Refractory Association).
This event was held from 5th to 8th November 2012 in Cancun (Mexico) under the theme "Refractories: a mature or a constantly evolving market industry?".
For the first time, awards were offered for the best papers presented by young authors. The prizes were decided by an international jury presided by the Alafar Technical Committee.
These awards are designed to attract to the industry young engineers and researchers whilst at the same time increasing the technical level of congress papers.
The winning paper came from Prof Pandolfelli's team in Brazil, the Kerneos paper is in second place and third place was awarded to Hong Peng from Elkem.
Congratulations to Adriana Borovsky and the co-authors Hervé Fryda and Jean-Michel Auvray from the Kerneos research and development team.
