Apr. 10, 2025 - Calderys has reached a first crucial milestone at CAPES (Calderys Plant in East & South India) with the successful trial of the acidic monolithic refractories line—exactly one year after the project’s groundbreaking—marking a significant step toward the overall facility’s commissioning.

"With CAPES advancing rapidly, we are on track to deliver world-class refractory solutions while reinforcing our commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.”
The investment comprises five state-of-the-art production lines to deliver high-quality refractory solutions and steel casting fluxes. Construction at the plant is progressing well, with production expected to begin by the second half of 2025. This development strengthens Calderys offer to Indian steel industry by enhancing local production capabilities, supporting its fast growth, and reducing reliance on imports.
A Vision for excellence and sustainability
CAPES project goes beyond expanding Calderys’ production capacity—it embodies the Group’s commitment to not only local manufacturing and supply chain efficiency but also innovation-driven growth and environmental responsibility.
As an example, the facility is designed to operate majorly on solar energy and green fuel, incorporating a dust emission control infrastructure, a rainwater harvesting system and a zero-water discharge approach which includes sewage and effluent treatment plant to minimize environmental impact. It will also retain 33% green cover within its premises.
