Imerys to acquire SB Mineraçao and extend its industrial footprint in fast-growing Brazil

Nov. 1, 2025 - On October 30th, 2025, Imerys signed an agreement to purchase SB Mineraçao, a Brazilian company specializing in the production of ground calcium carbonate. Based in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim (State of Espírito Santo), the company is a leading producer of ground calcium carbonates used in various applications, including polymers, thermosets, paints and coatings in Brazil.

In 2024, this business generated approximately USD 30 million in revenue. The acquisition is aligned with Imerys’ strategic direction to invest in growth markets while reinforcing its presence in Latin America to meet current and expected demand. The completion of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
