Calderys in Saudi Arabia: Production Capacity Designed to Strengthen Refractory Supply in the Middle East

Jan. 10, 2026 - Calderys’ new refractory production facility in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, has been designed to respond directly to the operational needs of customers across the Middle East. Beyond increasing capacity, the plant will feature dedicated production lines that will enhance product availability, consistency, and technical performance for key industrial sectors.

Scheduled to begin production in April 2026, the facility represents the largest recent investment by Calderys in the EMEA region and reinforces the Group’s long-term commitment to local manufacturing and service proximity.

A plant structured around customer applications

The Jubail plant will operate three dedicated production lines, each engineered to support critical high-temperature applications across steel, cement, petrochemical, aluminum, and non-ferrous industries.

This configuration allows Calderys to manufacture both standard and application-specific solutions locally, reducing supply chain complexity while improving responsiveness to regional demand.

One line for monolithic refractory production
The plant will feature one dedicated monolithic refractory production line, manufacturing a broad range of high-performance products, including dense and lightweight castables.

These materials are essential for lining furnaces, kilns, and reactors operating under extreme thermal and chemical conditions. Local production will provide customers with:

These lines will manufacture complex precast components, including pieces for EAF deltas, ladle bottoms or steel lances. These precast shapes are designed for applications where dimensional accuracy, repeatability, and installation speed are critical.
