Mar. 3, 2022 - A 5,500 tpd cement plant in South East Asia, running on 100% coal, has achieved a 36-months lifetime in Tertiary Air Duct using HASLE D39A, D52A and D59A. In the past, the cement plant had been using a generic castable from a different supplier, and at the time of installation of HASLE’s castables, the generic castable was still in use in some sections of the TAD, particularly at the joints.
After 12 months, all HASLE castable (D39A, D52A and D59A) were still in good condition, but the other castable had been damaged and needed repair. The sections lined with HASLE’s castables achieved a 36-month total lifetime, which far exceeds the performance of generic castables (usually 12-18 months).
The cement plant has used HASLE D59A for a long time, and the lifetime of this recent installation is not unusual. HASLEs D39A, D52A and D59A castables have a high mechanical strength, good shock resistance and excellent abrasion resistance. It is a very dense low cement castable, which combines the best refractory properties from several natural high-alumina raw materials, including andalusite and mullitized bauxitic clay.
