New shared directorship: Roberto Wurst becomes Executive Director at CREMER ERZKONTOR

May 2, 2023 - Starting 2 May 2023 there will be a new second Executive Director at CREMER ERZKONTOR: Roberto Wurst. He succeeds Jan Weber, who left the company in October 2022. With this move, this Lübeck, Germany-based end-to-end raw materials supplier has reinforced its top leadership. Effective immediately, Roberto Wurst is responsible for the Chemicals Division, Key Account Management and the Latin America, North America and Asia Regions. Nils Fleig will lead the Minerals Division, the Europe Region and the mineral grinding plants, as well as the Financial, IT, SCM, HR and Communications Departments.

“With Roberto we have gained an expert who will drive the diversification of our chemical raw materials portfolio,” said CREMER ERZKONTOR Executive Director Nils Fleig. “With over 30 years of experience in chemicals, he’ll bring us closer to our goal of further strengthening our trade in chemical raw materials – another step in the implementation of our Road#2024PLUS company strategy.”

Roberto Wurst was born and raised in Argentina, apprenticed as an industrial manager at BASF Argentina S.A. and worked in various positions for BASF from 1989 und 1999, including at the headquarters in Ludwigshafen. He then went to work for BK Giulini, a subsidiary of the global Israel Chemicals Group (ICL). He held various leadership positions in South America and Germany through to 2014. In May of that year he relocated to St. Louis in the US for three years to lead a global division of ICL. In 2017 he was transferred to São Paulo as ICL’s Regional Director for South America. For the last three years Wurst was employed by Perimeter Solutions in the US, where he led the EMEA and South American business in products, equipment and services for fighting forest fires. Roberto Wurst has a degree as economic assistant and a degree in business administration.
