Nils Fleig appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Possehl Erzkontor

Apr. 5, 2022 - Since April 1, 2022, Possehl Erzkontor has been operating under dual leadership. In addition to Jan Weber (CEO), Nils Fleig has joined the management team as the new CFO. Thus, this end-to-end service provider for raw materials, headquartered in Lübeck, Germany, is positioning itself more broadly at the top. The position was newly created in order to implement the corporate strategy Road#2024PLUS in further company divisions. Effective immediately, Nils Fleig will be responsible for Finance, Accounting, Controlling, IT & HR, while Jan Weber will lead Regions, Divisions, Logistics, Operations and Communications.

“With the engagement of Nils, we are taking another important step in our transformation,” says Jan Weber. “After two years of strategic and process realignment, for the implementation phase it is incredibly important to divide responsibilities. From my perspective, this gives us the advantage of effective supervision.”

Nils Fleig is 40 years old and a native of Lübeck. After graduating from high school and completing a banking apprenticeship, he studied International Business Administration at the University of Economics in Vienna, including a semester at Madrid’s Universidad Pontificia Comillas. Since 2010 he has worked in various finance positions at Jungheinrich AG, including a leading role in the development of the Group’s logistics division. . For the last four years, Nils served as Chief Financial Officer of the MIAS Group, which was acquired by Jungheinrich.

Nils describes his view of the tasks ahead as follows: “I will build on the successes already achieved by Possehl Erzkontor and, together with my teams, continue to shape the change process in a targeted manner. Together with Jan Weber, we will optimally combine the skills available in the company in the areas of sales and finance as well as sustainability and digitalization, in order to achieve the corporate goals of the transformation.”
