Steel plant back on track, RINL starts production

Oct. 20, 2014 - Production at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant - RINL where total operations were shut since last Sunday due to cyclone Hudhud, has begun on Sunday with hot metal rolling out from blast furnace-3.
One of the four coke oven batteries were also successfully charged and restored. RINL fraternity has been anxiously waiting for the restoration of coke oven batteries, which has to be done within 48hrs after they are shut. Hot metal production from blast furnace 3 has successfully begun and remaining two furnaces would be fired from tomorrow respectively.
VSP has 4 coke oven batteries that produce fuel for three blast furnaces that makes hot metal. Once down it is very difficult to restore these batteries.
